This product is an accessory that is used for Disconnectable Splices and Deadbreak Elbows. For 15/25kV voltage classes, a single 600A Deadbreak Elbow housing is used with a variety of cable insulation diameters. As such, the installation of a Deadbreak Elbow housing requires a Cable Adapter to create an interference fit. Depending on the cable insulation diameter, the Cable Adapter can have a large wall-thickness which makes installation difficult. To make installation easier, Richards Cable Adaptors come with an innovative assembly aid that acts like a ramp to ease installation. The ribs on the wedge make certain grease will remain inside of the cable adaptor, allowing it to slide easily into place.
This simple solution is just one example of how seriously we take making our products as safe and user-friendly as possible.
