Senior Project Manager
Richards Manufacturing Company is a producer of electrical and gas distribution equipment for utility and commercial/industrial markets. Our offices and manufacturing facilities are located in Irvington, NJ—approximately 14 miles west of New York City.
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the full lifecycle execution of medium to high-complexity capital and product development projects. This role will lead cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to defined quality standards. The Senior Project Manager will serve as a key leader in stakeholder engagement, risk management, and project governance across capital investments and new product initiatives.
Location: Onsite, Richards Manufacturing (Irvington, NJ)
Key Responsibilities:
Lead multiple medium to high-complexity projects from initiation through successful completion.
Manage capital expenditure and product development projects with a focus on scope, schedule, budget, and quality.
Direct cross-functional project teams, ensuring clear roles, responsibilities, and timely execution.
Build and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders; align expectations and drive engagement.
Develop and maintain project schedules, resource plans, and detailed work breakdown structures.
Track project progress and provide regular reporting to senior leadership.
Monitor and manage project capital, expense, and resource expenditures; ensure adherence to budget and financial targets.
Perform financial analysis, including variance reporting, cost estimates, and evaluation of alternatives.
Establish and execute project communication plans, lead management-level project reviews, and deliver progress reports.
Execute integrated change management control processes for project modifications.
Develop and maintain risk management plans; proactively identify and mitigate potential risks.
Resolve project issues, remove barriers to progress, and escalate as needed.
Coordinate internal departments and stakeholders to align resources and operational support for on-time, on-budget, high-quality project delivery.
Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) in project management methodologies; recommend tools and provide training across the organization.
Travel up to 10% as needed to support project activities.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field required.
7–10 years of progressive project management experience.
Previous experience in a manufacturing environment required.
PMP certification preferred.
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially MS Project, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Expertise in stakeholder and requirements management.
Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to engage at all levels globally.
Demonstrated success in planning and executing complex projects.
Proven ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams.
Proficient in project ROI analysis (e.g., NPV, IRR, Payback Period).
Familiarity with toll gate or stage gate processes in product development environments.
