Job Description

The Continuous Improvement Manager is responsible for utilizing the continuous improvement methodology to lead projects to identify waste, drive improvement in key KPIs, and complete root cause/corrective action analysis to solve operations problems. They will build relationships with the stakeholders throughout the organization and utilize those relations to teach and coach the team on continuous improvement and lean.

 Location: Onsite, Richards Manufacturing Facility (Irvington, NJ) 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Calculate metrics and drive daily sustainment of the Managing for Daily Improvement (MDI) process.
  • Assist the Director of Continuous Improvement with the rollout of the MDI process throughout the organization. Be comfortable leading MDI meetings as required.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for Tableau and utilize Tableau to improve the efficiency and accuracy of calculating key KPIs.
  • Drive scrap reduction initiatives in key manufacturing areas. Supply the data needed to make decisions on where to focus scrap efforts.
  • Lead root cause/corrective action sessions to implement permanent solutions to manufacturing problems.
  • Complete time studies and roll out line balancing initiatives to improve efficiency.
  • Lead the rollout of 5S in key production areas.
  • Train the team on the tools and processes identified above, to drive improved understanding of lean/CI and assist with cultural change.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a closely related academic field.
  • Forty-eight (48) months’ experience in Lean Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, and Factory Systems.
  • Language Requirements: English – Spanish

Special Skills:

  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite required, proficiency with Excel required.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills required.
