Job Description

The MV Molding Manufacturing Engineer will serve as the primary engineering resource for the Richards rubber injection molding floor. This role is pivotal in introducing new products into production and ensuring all existing products continue to meet Richards’ quality and engineering standards.

Location: Onsite, Richards Manufacturing Facility (Irvington, NJ) 

Hours: Primarily night shift, with flexibility to support other shifts or production needs as required.

Reports to: MV Production Engineering Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Production Support: Act as a critical interface with the Production Manager, providing regular updates and support.
  • Process Testing Coordination: Organize and oversee process testing such as Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) and Dimensional Analysis to ensure product integrity.
  • Fixture Design and Implementation: Develop and implement production fixtures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness for production floor employees.
  • Troubleshooting:
  • Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) Compliance: Ensure that all standard operating procedures for the rubber injection molding floor are adhered to by production staff.
  • Training and Knowledge Transfer: Act as the primary engineering resource for training molding floor work instructions during night shifts.
  • Process Improvement: Analyze production processes and recommend or implement enhancements to improve efficiency and quality.
  • Scrap Analysis and Resolution: Review and analyze daily production scrap reports from molding and electrical testing to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Product Quality Assurance: Maintain product design parameters and functional requirements throughout production, addressing changes from vendors or processes as documented in ISO paperwork.
  • Functional Testing: Conduct additional functional tests as required, ensuring results are recorded and compliant with ISO documentation.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of rubber injection molding processes.
  • Hands-on experience with production troubleshooting and process improvements.
  • Proficiency in designing and implementing production fixtures.
  • Knowledge of ISO standards and documentation.
  • Strong analytical skills for scrap analysis and process testing.
  • Effective communication and training abilities, particularly for night shift operations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and shifts.
