Job Description

The LMV Mold Floor DSC Technician is responsible for managing and overseeing the Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) process on the molding floor. This role involves performing DSC tests, collecting and analyzing rubber samples, and ensuring the proper documentation of test results to support production, quality control, and engineering teams.

Location: Onsite (Irvington, NJ)

Key Responsibilities:

  • DSC Process Management: Manage the DSC testing process on the molding floor, ensuring tests are conducted as required and results are accurately recorded.
  • Collaboration: Communicate with the Production Manager, Supervisor, and Engineering teams to identify when new molds, settings, or materials are being introduced that require a new DSC test.

  • Sample Collection:
    • Collect rubber samples at the press, including raw material and molded components, as needed.
    • Gather press settings and rubber information for DSC testing.
  • Data Entry: Enter collected data, including rubber samples, press settings, and material information, into the LMV DSC Records Table for accurate tracking.
  • DSC Testing: Perform DSC analysis on the collected rubber samples as well as raw material samples, when required.
  • Results Documentation: Record DSC results in the LMV DSC Records Table and ensure results are easily accessible for further review.
  • Reporting: Communicate the DSC test results with the Production Manager, Supervisor, and Engineering teams, providing insights or recommendations as needed.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that DSC tests follow established procedures and are in compliance with internal standards, including referencing ES-0028 for molded rubber parts sample collection.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or associate degree in a related field preferred.
  • Previous experience with precision measurement equipment.
  • Previous experience with DSC testing, materials science, or rubber molding is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills for accurate data collection and record-keeping.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with production, engineering, and quality teams.
  • Knowledge of rubber molding processes and material properties is desirable.
  • Ability to follow established safety and quality standards in a production environment
