R-800

The 600A elbow and 200A tap plug are combined to form this innovative design. Reliability is improved, by eliminating the risk of sweat, dirt, water or other contaminants getting onto the interface during installation. Additionally, the R-800 reduces the risk of cross-threading by bypassing the need for installing a 200A tap plug. And this combination design not only increase reliability, but reduces costs as well! So, what was once a messy, hit-or-miss task, requiring as much patience as muscle, has been simplified by the R-800! And, it’s 100% compatible with other manufacturers’ components.

We do more testing than industry standards require. IEEE 386 requires either Impulse or AC Withstand. We run both on all of our products.

Richards 600/900A, 15 and 25kV Class, Separable R-800 was designed and validated against the following industry standards:

  • ANSI/IEEE Std 386: For Separable Insulated Connector Systems
  • ANSI C119.4: For Electric Connectors
  • IEEE Std 592: For Exposed Semiconducting Shields
